What You'll Need

  • Internet: Wi-Fi or cellular data connection
  • Email: A valid email address you can access immediately (for verification)
  • Time: 5-10 minutes
  • Permission Level: None required; this is the first step

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Download the App

Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your phone.

Search for measureQuick. The app icon is a blue square with the mQ logo.

Tap Get (iOS) or Install (Android).

Wait for the download to finish, then tap Open.

Tip: Make sure you are downloading the official measureQuick app published by measureQuick Inc. There are no alternative or "lite" versions.

Step 2: Create Your Account

When you open the app for the first time, you will see the login screen.

Tap Create Account (or Sign Up, depending on your app version).

  1. Email address - Use your work email. This becomes your account login.
  2. Password - Choose a password with at least 8 characters. Include a mix of letters and numbers.
  3. First name and Last name - Enter your real name. Your manager and teammates will see this in the app.

Tap Create Account to submit.

Tip: Use the same email address across your company's team. Your service manager will later invite you to a company account using this email.

Step 2b: Sign In with SSO (New in 3.6)

Starting with measureQuick 3.6, you can sign in using an existing account from another provider instead of creating a separate measureQuick password.

The following SSO (Single Sign-On) providers are supported:

  1. Google - Tap the Google sign-in button and select your Google account. If you are already signed into Google on your device, this completes in one tap.
  2. Apple - Tap Sign in with Apple. You can choose to share or hide your email address. Face ID or Touch ID confirms your identity.
  3. Microsoft - Tap the Microsoft sign-in button and enter your Microsoft/Outlook/Office 365 credentials.
  4. Facebook - Tap the Facebook sign-in button and authorize measureQuick through your Facebook account.
  5. Phone number - Enter your mobile phone number. measureQuick sends a verification code via SMS. Enter the code to sign in.

After authenticating through any of these providers, you are signed into measureQuick and can proceed to the home screen.

Warning: If you already have a measureQuick account created with email and password, using SSO with the same email address may create a separate account rather than linking to your existing one. Your projects and data may not carry over automatically. See SSO Login Methods for details on account linking and how to avoid this issue.

Step 3: Verify Your Email

measureQuick sends a verification email to the address you entered.

  1. Open your email inbox on your phone or another device.
  2. Find the email from measureQuick. Check your spam or junk folder if it does not appear within 2 minutes.
  3. Tap the verification link in the email.

[Visual Reference] Look for an email from measureQuick with the subject line "Verify your email address." The email contains a single confirmation link. Tap the link to activate your account.

The link confirms your email address and activates your account.

Tip: If you do not receive the verification email after 5 minutes, return to the app and tap Resend Verification Email. Double-check that you entered the correct email address.

Step 4: Log In for the First Time

Return to the measureQuick app. Enter your email and password on the login screen. Tap Log In.

The app may prompt you to allow notifications and location access. These permissions help with weather data and job tracking:

  • Notifications: Recommended. The app alerts you about test results and team activity.
  • Location: Recommended. The app uses your location to pull local weather data for outdoor temperature readings.

You can change these permissions later in your phone's Settings.

Step 5: Explore the Home Screen

After login, you land on the measureQuick home screen.

The home screen shows:

  • Projects: Your active and recent jobs
  • New Test: Start a diagnostic test
  • Tools: View connected smart tools and probes
  • Settings: Account, company, and app configuration

At this point you have a personal account, but you are not yet connected to a company account. Your service manager will invite you, or you can create a company account yourself (see Company Account Setup).

Step 6: Try Demo Mode (Optional)

If you do not have smart tools connected yet, you can explore the app using Demo Mode. Demo Mode simulates live instrument data so you can learn the interface without physical probes.

To enable Demo Mode:

  1. Tap Settings (gear icon).
  2. Tap Advanced Settings.
  3. Toggle Demo Mode to ON.

The app will now display simulated readings. You can navigate through test workflows, view sample diagnostics, and familiarize yourself with the interface.

Tip: Turn Demo Mode off before running real diagnostic tests. The app will remind you if Demo Mode is still active when you start a live test.

Tips & Common Issues

Verification email not arriving

Check your spam or junk folder first. Corporate email filters sometimes block automated messages. If the email still does not appear after 5 minutes, tap Resend Verification Email in the app. If you entered the wrong email address, create a new account with the correct one.

Forgot your password before first login

Tap Forgot Password on the login screen. Enter your email address. measureQuick sends a password reset link. Follow the link to set a new password, then log in.

App crashes on first launch

Make sure your phone's operating system is up to date. measureQuick requires iOS 15+ or Android 10+. If the app still crashes, uninstall and reinstall from the App Store or Google Play.

Not sure whether to create a personal or company account

Every user starts with a personal account. Company accounts are separate. Create your personal account first (this article), then either join an existing company account via invitation or create a new company account (see Company Account Setup).

Demo Mode data looks real

Demo Mode readings are simulated. They look realistic by design, so you can practice workflows. The app displays a "Demo Mode" indicator at the top of the screen. Always confirm Demo Mode is off before running live tests.

Multiple measureQuick accounts (New in 3.6)

If you work for more than one company or participate in a utility program, you may need multiple measureQuick accounts. mQ 3.6 introduces Multi-Account Mode, which lets you link accounts and switch between them without logging out. See Multi-Account Mode for setup instructions.
