What You'll Need

  • Account: A personal measureQuick account (see Creating Your measureQuick Account)
  • Permission Level: You must be the person creating the company, or have an invite from an existing company Owner
  • Information Ready: Company name, address, phone number, and logo file (PNG or JPG, 512x512px recommended)
  • Time: 5-10 minutes

Why Company Setup Matters

Every project, test, and report in measureQuick is tied to a company. Setting up your company correctly has three direct effects:

  1. Data organization. All technicians on your team share a single project library. Tests, findings, and diagnostics are grouped under your company.
  2. Team visibility. Managers can see every technician's work, review test results, and track quality metrics across the team.
  3. Report branding. PDF reports sent to homeowners carry your company name, logo, and contact information. A complete profile looks professional; a blank one does not.

Skip this step and your team operates as disconnected individual accounts with no shared visibility.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open Company Settings

After logging in with your personal account, navigate to Settings from the home screen.

  1. Tap the Settings gear icon (bottom navigation bar or side menu, depending on your device)
  2. Scroll to the Company section
  3. Tap Company Settings

If you already belong to a company, you will see your current company profile. If not, you will see the option to create or join a company.

Step 2: Create a New Company or Join an Existing One

You have two paths:

Creating a new company:

  1. Tap Create Company
  2. Enter your company name exactly as you want it to appear on reports and customer-facing documents
  3. Tap Create

Joining an existing company:

  1. Ask your company Owner for the invite link
  2. Tap Join Company
  3. Follow the invite link or enter the invite code
  4. Your Owner will approve the request

If your company already exists in measureQuick and you create a duplicate, your team's data will be split across two separate accounts. Check with your team before creating a new company.

[Visual Reference] The company setup screen presents two options: Create a new company or Join an existing company via invite code. Choose Join if your company already has a measureQuick account to avoid splitting data across duplicates.

Step 3: Complete Your Company Profile

Once your company is created, fill in the profile. Each field appears on customer-facing reports.

  1. Company Name - Your business name as it appears on reports
  2. Address - Street address, city, state, ZIP code
  3. Phone Number - Primary business phone
  4. Email - Company contact email (separate from your personal account email)
  5. Website - Your company website URL
  6. Logo - Tap the logo area to upload an image. PNG or JPG, 512x512px recommended. This appears on PDF reports.

Tap Save after completing each section.

Tip: Use your legal business name. Changing the company name later requires contacting support.

Step 4: Understand Roles and Permissions

The person who creates the company is automatically assigned the Owner role. measureQuick has a role hierarchy that controls what each user can access:

Role Can View Team Data Can Manage Users Can Change Company Settings Can Lock Settings
Owner Yes Yes Yes Yes
Manager Yes Yes Limited No
Technician Own data only No No No

Key distinctions:

  • Owners control everything, including billing, user invitations, and locked settings
  • Managers can view all team data and add users, but cannot change company-level locked settings or manage billing
  • Technicians see only their own projects and tests

You can assign roles when inviting users (covered in User Management).

Step 5: Configure Company-Wide Settings (Locked Settings)

Owners can lock specific settings so they apply to every team member. This prevents individual technicians from changing configuration that should be consistent across your company.

  1. Go to Settings > Company Settings
  2. Find the Locked Settings section
  3. Toggle on any setting you want to enforce company-wide

Common settings to lock:

  • Units of measure (Fahrenheit vs. Celsius, PSI vs. kPa)
  • Report branding (logo, contact info, disclaimers)
  • Target values (subcooling/superheat targets, static pressure thresholds)
  • Required fields (force technicians to complete specific data before saving a test)

When a setting is locked, technicians see it grayed out on their devices with a lock icon. They cannot override it.

Tip: Lock settings after your first week of use. Run a few tests yourself to confirm your preferred configuration before enforcing it across the team. For a full reference on lockable settings, see Company-Wide Settings.

Step 6: Explore with Demo Mode (Optional)

If you want to explore company features, project workflows, and test screens before running real diagnostics, enable Demo Mode.

  1. Go to Settings > Advanced Settings
  2. Toggle Demo Mode to ON
  3. The app populates with sample projects, equipment profiles, and test data

Demo Mode lets you:

  • Walk through the full project creation flow from the home screen
  • See how reports look with your company branding
  • Practice navigating test screens without connecting probes
  • Review what your technicians will see when they join

Turn Demo Mode OFF before doing real work. Demo data does not appear in your production project library.

Step 7: Invite Your First Team Member

Once your company profile is complete and settings are configured, you are ready to add technicians.

  1. Go to Settings > Company Settings > Users
  2. Tap Invite User
  3. Enter the team member's email address
  4. Select their role (Owner, Manager, or Technician)
  5. Tap Send Invite

The invited user receives an email with instructions to create their personal account (if they do not have one) and join your company.

For the full user management workflow, including bulk invitations, role changes, and removing users, see User Management.

Tips & Common Issues

I created a duplicate company by accident

Contact measureQuick support at support@measurequick.com. They can merge company accounts or migrate users. Do this before your team starts creating projects under the wrong company, as project data is tied to the company where it was created.

My logo looks blurry on reports

Upload an image that is at least 512x512 pixels. JPG and PNG formats are supported. Avoid images with transparent backgrounds if your reports use a white background, as the logo may not display clearly.

I cannot find the Locked Settings section

Locked Settings are only visible to users with the Owner role. If you are a Manager, ask your Owner to configure locked settings. If you created the company and still do not see the option, confirm your role under Settings > Company Settings > Users.

A technician changed a setting I thought was locked

Verify the setting is toggled ON in the Locked Settings panel. Some settings require the technician to restart the app before the lock takes effect. If the setting is locked and the technician still sees the old value, have them force-close and reopen measureQuick.

Best practices for company setup

  • Complete your profile before inviting anyone. Technicians see the company name and logo immediately after joining.
  • Lock units of measure first. Inconsistent units across your team create confusion in shared reports.
  • Assign the fewest Owner roles necessary. One or two Owners is sufficient for most companies. Use the Manager role for supervisors who need to view team data but do not need billing or locked settings access.
  • Review your company profile quarterly. Update the logo, contact info, or address if anything changes. Reports generated after the update reflect the new information; older reports keep the original branding.
