What You'll Need

  • Device: iPhone (iOS 15+) or Android phone/tablet (Android 10+) with measureQuick installed
  • App version: v3.5 or later
  • Account: A measureQuick account (see Installing the measureQuick App)
  • Permissions: Notification permission granted to measureQuick at the OS level
  • Time: 5 minutes to review and adjust settings

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open Notification Settings

  1. Open the measureQuick app
  2. Tap the Settings gear icon
  3. Scroll to the Notifications section

Step 2: Understand Notification Types

measureQuick uses three notification channels:

  • Push notifications - alerts sent to your device's lock screen and notification center. These are time-sensitive alerts like test completion and team activity.
  • Email notifications - sent to the email address associated with your measureQuick account. Used for subscription reminders, billing updates, and periodic summaries.
  • In-app notifications - displayed within the measureQuick app when you open it. These include software update announcements and feature highlights.

Each channel can be configured independently.

Step 3: Configure Push Notification Categories

Tap Push Notifications to see the available categories. Toggle each one ON or OFF:

Category Description
Test Completion Alerts when a test finishes processing or a team member completes a test on a shared project
Team Activity Notifications when team members create, update, or complete projects
Subscription Reminders Advance notice before subscription renewals or expirations
Software Updates Alerts when a new version of measureQuick is available
System Alerts Service announcements, scheduled maintenance, or platform status updates

Step 4: Configure Email Notification Preferences

Tap Email Notifications to manage email-based alerts:

  • Billing and Subscription - payment receipts, renewal notices, subscription changes
  • Weekly Summary - a digest of team activity and project completions over the past week
  • Product Updates - announcements about new features, integrations, or major releases

To change the email address receiving notifications, update your account email under Settings > mQ Account > Account Info.

Step 5: Adjust Notification Frequency

Some notification categories support frequency controls:

  • Immediately - each event triggers a notification as it occurs
  • Daily Digest - events are batched and delivered once per day
  • Weekly Digest - events are batched and delivered once per week

Frequency settings apply to push and email notifications separately. In-app notifications always display when you open the app regardless of frequency settings.

Step 6: OS-Level Notification Settings

measureQuick's notification settings control what the app sends. Your device's OS controls whether those notifications actually appear.

iOS:

  1. Open the device Settings app
  2. Scroll to measureQuick
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Configure: Allow Notifications, Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners, Sounds, and Badges

If notifications are disabled at the iOS level, measureQuick cannot deliver push notifications regardless of in-app settings.

Android:

  1. Open the device Settings app
  2. Tap Apps or Applications
  3. Find and tap measureQuick
  4. Tap Notifications
  5. Configure notification channels, sounds, and priority levels

Android allows per-channel control, so you can enable some measureQuick notification types at the OS level while silencing others.

Both platforms require the initial notification permission prompt to be accepted when you first install the app. If you denied that prompt, you must enable notifications manually through the OS settings described above.

Tips & Common Issues

I am not receiving any push notifications

First, check OS-level settings (Step 6). Notifications must be enabled both in the measureQuick app and in your device's system settings. If both are enabled, confirm your app is updated to the latest version and that you have a stable network connection.

I am getting too many notifications

Switch team activity and test completion notifications to a Daily or Weekly Digest frequency. You can also disable specific categories you do not need. Managers on large teams may prefer the digest format to avoid notification overload.

Notification sounds are different from what I expected

Notification sounds are controlled by your device OS, not by measureQuick. Adjust sound settings in your device's notification preferences for the measureQuick app.

A team member is not receiving team activity notifications

Confirm that their account has push notifications enabled for the Team Activity category and that their device OS allows measureQuick notifications. Each user manages their own notification settings independently.
