Payment & Billing

What You'll Learn

  • How to view your billing history and past invoices
  • How to update your payment method on file
  • How to read and understand invoice line items
  • How to add or remove user seats from your subscription
  • How to upgrade or downgrade your plan
  • How to cancel your subscription and what happens to your data

What You'll Need

  • Account: A measureQuick account with an active Premier Services subscription (see Activating Premier Services Subscription)
  • Role: Owner role on the company account (subscription management is an Owner-only capability)
  • Time: 5 minutes for most billing changes

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open Billing Settings

From the measureQuick app, tap the Settings icon (gear) in the bottom navigation. Scroll to Subscription, then tap Billing or Payment & Billing.

Only users with the Owner role can access billing settings. Manager and Technician accounts do not see this section.

Step 2: View Billing History

The billing screen displays a list of past invoices in reverse chronological order. Each entry shows:

  • Date - when the charge was processed
  • Amount - the total billed for that cycle
  • Status - Paid, Failed, or Pending
  • Seat count - how many user seats were active during that billing period

Tap any invoice to view its full details, including a line-item breakdown by seat and any prorated adjustments.

Step 3: Update Your Payment Method

  1. From the Billing screen, tap Payment Method
  2. Enter updated credit card details (card number, expiration, CVC)
  3. Tap Save

The new card is used for all future charges. measureQuick does not store full card numbers in the app - only the last four digits are displayed for reference.

Step 4: Understand Invoice Details

Each invoice includes:

Line Item Description
Premier Services Base subscription at $49/user/month
Seat count Number of active user seats during the billing period
Prorated adjustments Credits or charges for mid-cycle seat changes
ACCA QI (if applicable) Add-on tier charges ($100, $150, or $200/month depending on ACCA membership status)
Total Amount charged to your card

Mid-cycle changes (adding seats partway through a billing period) are prorated. You pay only for the remaining days in the current cycle, and the full seat cost starts on the next cycle.

Step 5: Add or Remove User Seats

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription
  2. Tap Manage Seats or adjust the seat count
  3. Increase or decrease the number of Premier seats
  4. Confirm the change

Adding seats takes effect immediately. The cost for new seats is prorated for the remainder of the current billing cycle.

Removing seats takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Users assigned to removed seats revert to the Basic tier when the change applies. Reassign seats before removing them to avoid disrupting the wrong team member.

Step 6: Upgrade or Downgrade Your Plan

Upgrading from Basic to Premier: Follow the activation steps in Activating Premier Services Subscription.

Adding ACCA QI: From Settings > Subscription, select the ACCA QI add-on. Pricing ranges from $100/month (ACCA member + QA Contractor) to $200/month (non-member). See ACCA QI Setup for details.

Downgrading from Premier to Basic: This follows the cancellation process (see Step 7). There is no intermediate tier between Basic and Premier.

Step 7: Cancel Your Subscription

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription
  2. Tap Cancel Subscription
  3. Confirm cancellation

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain Premier features until that date. After cancellation:

  • Your account reverts to the Basic tier
  • All project data, test history, and measurement records are retained
  • Cloud sync, branded PDF reports, AI System Profiler, CRM integrations, and Vitals scoring become unavailable
  • You can reactivate Premier at any time from the same Subscription screen

Tips & Common Issues

My payment failed and I did not receive a notification

Check your email spam folder for payment failure notices. Then go to Settings > Subscription > Payment Method and verify your card is current. If the card is valid but charges continue to fail, contact your bank to confirm they are not blocking the transaction.

I was charged for more seats than I expected

Review your seat assignments under Settings > User Management. Each user with an assigned Premier seat counts toward your billing total, including users who may no longer be active on your team. Remove seats for departed employees to stop charges on the next cycle.

Can I get a refund for unused days after removing a seat?

Seat removals take effect at the end of the billing period, not immediately. You are not charged again for the removed seat on the next cycle, but the current cycle is not refunded. Plan seat changes near the end of your billing period to minimize overlap.

How do I get an invoice for my records or for reimbursement?

Tap any invoice in the billing history to view the full detail. Use your device's share or export function to save a copy. If you need a formal invoice with specific tax or business details, contact support at support@measurequick.com.

I canceled but still see Premier features

Premier access continues through the end of your paid billing period. Once that period ends, the app reverts to Basic on the next sync. Force-close and reopen the app if features persist past your billing end date.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your project data, test records, photos, and measurement history are not deleted. They remain stored in your account. You lose access to features that require Premier (cloud sync, branded reports, CRM integrations, AI System Profiler, Vitals scoring), but the underlying data stays intact. If you resubscribe later, everything is available again.

I still have QBits from the old pricing model. What happened?

QBits were measureQuick's legacy pay-per-use currency ($5 per system serviced). This model was sunset in early 2025 and replaced by the $49/user/month subscription. QBit auto-reloads were turned off in February 2025, and all customers were required to transition to subscriptions by April 1, 2025. If you have questions about remaining QBit balances, contact support@measurequick.com.

How contractors think about subscription ROI

"$50/month per user vs $5/customer qbits" - Jacob Oppelt, Owner, Best Neighbor Home Services

Jacob reports that the flat-rate subscription is simpler than the previous QBit model. At $49/month per user, the cost is predictable. Several interviewed contractors absorb the cost by adding $5 to their diagnostic fee. With average callbacks costing $500+, a single prevented callback covers nearly a year of subscription costs for one technician.
