Cloud-Based Report Sharing

Cloud-Based Report Sharing

What You'll Learn

  • How to generate a shareable cloud link for a measureQuick report
  • What your customer sees when they open a cloud report link
  • How link expiration and access controls work
  • How to customize which data sections appear in a shared report
  • The difference between sharing from the app vs the cloud dashboard
  • When to use cloud link sharing vs emailing a PDF

What You'll Need

  • Account: A measureQuick account with an active Premier Services subscription
  • App version: measureQuick v3.5 or later
  • Prerequisite: A completed project with a saved test, synced to the cloud (see K1)
  • Time: 2 minutes to generate and send a share link

Cloud Links vs PDF Email

measureQuick gives you two ways to deliver reports to customers: attach a PDF to an email or text (see Project Sharing), or generate a cloud link that opens an interactive online report.

PDFs work well for permanent records and CRM attachments. Cloud links are better when you want the customer to view results on any device without downloading a file. The online report viewer is mobile-friendly, loads quickly, and displays the same data as the PDF in a responsive layout.

Both options require a Premier Services subscription.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Sync Your Project

Before you can share via cloud link, the project must be synced. Tap Exit and Sync from your completed project and confirm the green checkmark appears on the Results tab. If you have already synced, skip this step.

[Visual Reference] After syncing, a green checkmark appears on the Results tab indicating the project has been uploaded to the cloud and is ready for sharing.

Step 2: Generate a Share Link

Open the synced project and tap Share. Select Cloud Link (rather than PDF export). measureQuick generates a unique URL pointing to the online report viewer.

You can copy the link to your clipboard, send it via text message, or email it directly from the share sheet. The link is short enough to paste into an SMS without truncation.

Step 3: What the Customer Sees

When the customer taps the link, their browser opens the measureQuick online report viewer. The page is mobile-friendly and does not require the customer to install the app or create an account.

The viewer displays:

  • Your company logo and branding
  • The Vitals Score and letter grade
  • Color-coded subsystem pass/fail results
  • Measurement summaries
  • Before-and-after comparison (if test-in and test-out are both saved)

The layout adjusts to the customer's screen size. On a phone, the report scrolls vertically with expandable sections. On a desktop, it displays in a wider format with sections visible at a glance.

Step 4: Configure Link Expiration and Access

Cloud report links have access controls to protect customer data:

  • Expiration - Links remain active for a set period. Check your account settings for the current default. Expired links display a message directing the customer to contact your company for a fresh link.
  • No login required - Anyone with the link can view the report. Treat the link like you would treat any document containing customer address and equipment information.
  • Revoke access - You can deactivate a link from the cloud dashboard if a customer requests it or if a link was sent to the wrong recipient.

Step 5: Customize the Shared Report

Before generating the link, you can control what appears in the shared report:

  • Company branding - Your logo, company name, and contact information appear on the report. Set these in Settings > Report Options.
  • Report type - Choose between the full Pro Report (detailed technical data) or the Vitals Report (customer-friendly summary with letter grades).
  • Data sections - Select which subsystem results and measurement details to include. You may want to hide certain technical sections that are not relevant to the customer conversation.

These customization options match what is available for PDF reports. The cloud viewer renders the same content you would see in the PDF, formatted for the browser.

Step 6: Sharing from the Cloud Dashboard

You can also share cloud links from the web-based cloud dashboard, not just the mobile app. This is useful when:

  • A customer calls the office days after the visit and asks for the report again
  • A manager needs to send a report on behalf of a technician
  • You want to share multiple project reports at once

Log in to the cloud dashboard, locate the project, and use the share option to generate or copy the link.

When to Use Cloud Sharing vs PDF Email

Scenario Best option
Customer is standing with you on site PDF via AirDrop or text
Customer will review later on their phone Cloud link via text
CRM documentation (ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro) PDF attachment
Customer asks for the report weeks later Cloud link from dashboard
Customer needs a printable record PDF via email
Sharing with a property manager or landlord Cloud link (no download needed)

Use both methods when it makes sense. Send the cloud link for immediate viewing and follow up with a PDF for their records.

Tips & Common Issues

The customer says the link does not work

Check whether the link has expired. Generate a new link from the cloud dashboard or the app. If the link is still active, ask the customer to try a different browser. The viewer supports all modern browsers on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS.

Can I share a link to just the Vitals Score without the full report?

The cloud link shares the report type you selected when generating the link. Choose the Vitals Report for a simplified view. There is no option to share a single score without the surrounding report context.

How do I know if the customer opened the link?

measureQuick does not currently provide read receipts or view tracking for cloud links. If confirmation is important, ask the customer to reply after they have reviewed it.

Best practices for cloud report sharing

  • Send the cloud link while you are still on site so the customer can confirm it works
  • Use the Vitals Report type for homeowners; reserve the Pro Report for internal and CRM use
  • Revoke links for any project sent to the wrong recipient
  • Save your company branding settings once; they apply to all future shared reports
