Why Sharing Matters

The measureQuick report is a communication tool. It translates technical measurements into a format that customers, managers, and team members can use. For customers, it builds trust through data transparency. For managers, it provides quality assurance across the team. For CRM systems, it creates automatic documentation tied to the work order.

As one industry source puts it: "Technicians can confirm their diagnosis, use it as a talking point with homeowners, and increase ticket revenues."

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Generate the PDF Report

Before sharing, you need a PDF report. From your completed project, tap Generate PDF. measureQuick offers two report types:

  • Pro Report - Detailed technical report with full measurement data, subsystem pass/fail results, score breakdowns, and measurement details. Best for internal use, CRM documentation, and technically inclined customers.
  • Vitals Report (Customer Report) - Simplified report with the 0-100 Vitals Score, A-F letter grade, color-coded indicators, and easy-to-understand system health summary. Designed for homeowners.

Select the report type appropriate for your audience. You can generate both types from the same project.

Tip: Configure your report settings in Settings > Report Options before generating. You can set your company logo, choose a light or dark theme, and decide whether to show range indicators. These settings persist across all future reports.

Step 2: Share via Email, Text, or AirDrop

After generating the PDF, the standard iOS/Android share sheet appears. From here you can:

  • Email - Attach the PDF to an email. The customer receives a professional report they can save, print, or forward to their spouse or landlord.
  • Text/SMS - Send the PDF directly to the customer's phone. Useful for quick delivery while on site.
  • AirDrop (iOS) - Share directly to a nearby Apple device. Works well when the homeowner is standing with you.
  • Save to Files - Store locally on your device for later sharing.
  • Print - Send to a wireless printer if one is available on the job site or at the office.

Tip: Sharing the Vitals Report with the customer while you are still on site gives you the opportunity to walk them through it in person. This is more effective than emailing it later.

Step 3: Understand What the Customer Sees

When a customer receives the Vitals Report, they see:

  • Cover page with your company logo, the job address, and date
  • Vitals Score - A single number from 0 to 100 representing overall system health
  • Letter grade - A through F, familiar to everyone from school
  • Color-coded subsystem results - Green (pass), red (fail), with plain-language descriptions
  • Before and after comparison (if test-in and test-out were saved) showing measurable improvement

The report does not require HVAC knowledge to interpret. A score of 85 with a B grade tells the customer their system is good but has room for improvement. A score of 45 with an F tells them there are problems that need attention.

"MeasureQuick automatically generates two detailed reports: A customer-facing report with simple visuals and easy-to-understand indicators that clearly show where comfort and efficiency problems exist." - hvactoday.com

Step 4: Internal Sharing - Manager Access

Managers do not need technicians to manually share reports. Once a technician taps Exit and Sync (see Cloud Sync & Backup), the project data and reports are available in the cloud.

Managers can:

  • View all synced projects from every technician on the team
  • Open and review PDF reports from any project
  • Check pass/fail results and Vitals Scores without being on site
  • Compare test-in and test-out data to verify work quality
  • Monitor technician performance trends over time

This access is automatic for Manager and Owner roles on the company account. No separate sharing step is required from the technician.

Step 5: CRM Integration - Automatic Report Delivery

If your company uses ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, measureQuick can push project data and reports directly to your CRM. This eliminates duplicate data entry and ensures every work order has measurement documentation attached.

ServiceTitan integration:

  • Project data and PDF reports attach to the corresponding work order
  • Technician notes and photos sync automatically
  • Office staff can access reports without asking the technician

Housecall Pro integration:

  • One-button copy of project data to the work order
  • PDF reports attach to the customer record
  • Streamlines the handoff between field and office

See CRM Integration: ServiceTitan or CRM Integration: Housecall Pro for setup instructions.

Step 6: Report Customization Options

Before sharing, you can customize how reports look:

  • Company logo - Appears on the cover page of every report
  • Profile photo - Your photo or company icon can appear on exports
  • Theme - Light or dark background
  • Range indicators - Show or hide the target range graphics on the report

Configure these in Settings > Report Options. Changes apply to all future reports.

Tips & Common Issues

The customer says the report is too technical

Use the Vitals Report instead of the Pro Report for homeowner delivery. The Vitals Report uses letter grades and color-coded visuals that do not require HVAC knowledge. Save the Pro Report for your CRM and internal records.

My company logo does not appear on the report

Go to Settings > Report Options and upload your logo. The logo must be set before generating the PDF. If you generate the report first and add the logo after, regenerate the PDF to include it.

Can I share a report from an old project?

Yes. Open the project from the Results tab (or pull it from the cloud), and generate a new PDF. You can share reports from any previously synced project.

How do I share a before-and-after comparison?

Complete both a test-in and test-out within the same project. When you generate the PDF, the report automatically includes the comparison showing measurement changes between the two tests. This is one of the most effective tools for customer communication - the customer sees concrete improvement.

Best practices for report sharing

  • Share the Vitals Report with customers on site, while you can walk them through the results
  • Use the Pro Report for your internal records and CRM
  • Set up CRM integration to automate documentation
  • Always include your company logo for brand consistency
  • Save both test-in and test-out to show the value of your work
