App Troubleshooting: Crashes, Errors & Cache Clearing

App Troubleshooting: Crashes, Errors & Cache Clearing

App Crashes or Freezes

Force-close and reopen

  1. iOS: Swipe up from the bottom (or double-tap Home), find measureQuick, swipe it up to close.
  2. Android: Open Recent Apps, swipe measureQuick away.
  3. Reopen the app. Unsaved data from the current session may be lost, but saved projects remain intact.

Update the app

Many crash issues are fixed in newer versions. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and check for updates to measureQuick.

Restart your phone

A restart clears the Bluetooth stack, frees memory, and resolves most intermittent crashes. Try this before more drastic steps. If Bluetooth-specific issues persist after a restart, see Bluetooth Troubleshooting: Android Permissions & Probe Connectivity.

Clear App Cache

Android

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > measureQuick > Storage.
  2. Tap Clear Cache.

This removes temporary files (Bluetooth pairing cache, image thumbnails) without deleting your account, projects, or saved data.

Do NOT tap "Clear Data" or "Clear Storage" unless support asks you to. That removes all local app data including unsaved projects.

iOS

iOS does not have a separate cache clearing option. To reset the app, delete and reinstall it from the App Store. Your cloud-synced projects will reappear after logging in. Any projects saved only to the device (not synced to cloud) will be lost.

App Shows Errors or Behaves Unexpectedly

"Something went wrong" or generic error messages

  1. Force-close and reopen the app.
  2. Check your internet connection (some features require a data connection).
  3. Update the app to the latest version.
  4. If the error persists, take a screenshot and email it to support@measurequick.com with a description of what you were doing when it appeared.

Slow performance or lag

  • Free up phone storage. measureQuick needs available space for photos, reports, and cached data.
  • Close other apps. Multiple open apps compete for memory and Bluetooth bandwidth.
  • Disable battery optimization (Android): Settings > Apps > measureQuick > Battery > Unrestricted. Aggressive battery management can throttle background processes.

App Won't Open at All

  1. Restart your phone.
  2. Check for app updates in the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Check device compatibility: measureQuick requires iOS 15+ or Android 10+.
  4. If none of the above works, uninstall and reinstall the app. Log in with your existing account and cloud-synced projects will reload. If projects don't reappear, see Sync Troubleshooting.

Reporting a Bug

When contacting support about a crash or error, include:

  • Phone model and OS version (e.g., "Pixel 7 Pro, Android 14")
  • measureQuick app version (found in Settings > About)
  • What you were doing when the problem occurred
  • Screenshots or screen recordings if possible
  • Whether the problem happens every time or intermittently
