Finding a Lost or Misplaced Probe with Tool Tracker

Finding a Lost or Misplaced Probe with Tool Tracker

Lost your gauges and wondering if there is a way to track them? Tool Tracker can show where your gauges, probes, and other Bluetooth smart tools were last detected.

Left a probe on a rooftop or in a customer's attic? Tool Tracker shows where each of your Bluetooth tools was last detected, on a map, so you can narrow the search to the right job site. Tool Tracker is a Premier Services feature, available in version 3.6 and later.

Look up a tool's last-seen location

  1. Open the Toolbox in measureQuick.
  2. Tap Tool Tracker.
  3. If the app asks for location access, allow it so the map can display.
  4. You will see your tools with when each one was last powered on and detected.
  5. Tap a tool to see its last-known location on the map. Zoom out to see everywhere your tools have been detected; each job site where a tool was used shows on the map.
  6. Head to the last-known location and power the tool on. Once you are within Bluetooth range with the app open, the tool will appear in your Toolbox scan. See How to Pair Bluetooth Tools if it does not reconnect.

What Tool Tracker can and cannot do

  • It records where the app last detected the tool over Bluetooth. It is not live GPS tracking; a probe does not report its position on its own.
  • If a tool was moved after it was last detected (for example, it fell off a truck), the map shows where it was last seen by the app, not where it is now.
  • Only Bluetooth smart tools that have connected to measureQuick appear. Analog gauges and tools that were never paired cannot be tracked. See Connecting Your Smart Tools in measureQuick.

If a tool is not listed

  1. Confirm you are on version 3.6 or later (tap the user icon in the upper left, then Check for updates).
  2. Confirm the tool has been paired and used with measureQuick on this account at least once.
  3. Confirm your Premier Services subscription is active. See the Guide to measureQuick's Premier Services.

Still cannot find a tool in the list? Email support@measurequick.com and we can help you track it down.
