Probes do not show up when I click "Add" or "Scan" in the Toolbox

A common issue we see on Android devices is that the permissions automatically get turned off with an update or were never on to begin with for the measureQuick app. If you're not familiar with setting app permissions here is how:

  1. Go to the "Settings menu for the DEVICE (not the menu in the mQ app).
  2. Click on the "Apps" tab.
  3. Find and click on "measureQuick HVAC"
  4. Click on the "Permissions" button
  5. Make sure all permissions are allowed (while using) particularly Nearby Devices, and No Permissions Denied. If there are permissions you would prefer to leave off, start by turning them all on, getting the probes connected and perform a complete project to make sure everything is functioning correctly. Then, go back and deny permissions one by one. If you lose app functionality you will have to turn that particular permission back on.
  6. There is often a setting at the bottom of the "Permissions" page that says something along the lines of "Pause app activity if unused" which removes permissions if the app is unused; turn that off.
  7. Close the settings menu, go back to mQ and try again.
