measureQuick Quick Charge Mode

measureQuick Quick Charge Mode

Info
Availability: Quick Charge Mode is included in the free version of measureQuick.

Overview

Quick Charge Mode is a feature in measureQuick that allows technicians to adjust refrigerant charge directly through the app while the system is operating. If you notice your gauges have changed to Blue/Green/Red colors (instead of the normal Blue/Red gauges used in standard A/C or Heat Pump Mode), you have activated Quick Charge Mode.

Notes
Note: Quick Charge Mode is frequently activated by accident and is one of the most common tech support inquiries.

How to Identify Quick Charge Mode

You can identify when Quick Charge Mode is active by looking at your gauges:
  1. Quick Charge Mode: Blue, Green, and Red gauges
  2. Standard A/C or Heat Pump Mode: One Blue Evaporator gauge and one Red Condenser gauge

Activating/Deactivating Quick Charge Mode

To Activate:

  1. Tap the Settings (gear icon) in the top right corner
  2. Scroll down to Advanced
  3. Find Quick Charge Mode
  4. Toggle the slider to Active (green slider is On)
  5. Return to the Gauge screen
Idea
Tip: Sometimes the mode doesn't activate immediately. If this happens, navigate to another screen (like Home or Grid View) and then return to the Gauge screen

Deactivate:

  1. Tap the Settings (⚙️ gear icon) in the top right corner
  2. Scroll down to Advanced
  3. Find Quick Charge Mode
  4. Toggle the slider to Inactive (green slider is Off)
  5. Return to the Gauge screen (refresh if needed by visiting Home or Grid View first)

Using Quick Charge Mode

When properly set up, Quick Charge Mode guides you through the charging process. You will need:
  1. A charging T
  2. Hoses
  3. A refrigerant scale
  4. Refrigerant and/or recovery tank/pump (depending if you need to add or remove refrigerant)

The feature allows you to:
  1. Select refrigerant type
  2. Choose charging method
  3. Confirm subcooling and airflow
  4. Verify system conditions
  5. Add or remove refrigerant as needed
  6. Perform a Charge Creep Check to ensure system stability
Notes
Note: While measureQuick has built-in support for compatible Bluetooth scales to automatically track refrigerant addition/removal, there are currently no scales in production that connect with measureQuick. This feature is in development and will be available in the future.

Additional Information

  1. Navigation Tip: To the left of the options is an arrow [<] that allows you to return to previous options within the workflow.
  2. Power User Feature: When Quick Charge Mode is active, the button labeled Gauges in the bottom right allows you to switch between Trending, Quick Charge Mode, and back to Gauges views.
